About this stone
Katrina is a cream marble from Sinai with small shell and fossil marks scattered through it. Polished, with its tiny pores filled, it looks calm and lightly patterned. Brushed or antique, the fossils stand out and the surface feels old and textured.
Like most marble it is softer than granite. Sand under shoes dulls a polished floor over time, and lemon, vinegar or strong cleaners leave pale marks. It suits a feature wall, wall cladding, a hallway or living-room floor, and window sills. The fossil pockets are filled at the factory, and a filled spot can open up after years of wear and need a small touch-up.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild pH-neutral cleaner. Seal it once a year, more often on a busy floor.
Better avoided for
