About this stone
Samaha is a pale cream stone packed with small white shell shapes, so every piece looks slightly different. The grain is a little coarser than Galala, which gives honed, brushed and antique finishes a pleasant sandy grip underfoot. That makes it a comfortable choice for stairs, terraces and the area around a pool.
It is still marble, so a polished face scratches and etches with acids, and oil can stain it. For outside areas and wet floors, choose a textured finish rather than polished. Heat is not a concern. Because the shells vary, lay tiles out dry to mix them before fixing. It is not suited to kitchen countertops.
Care
Sweep and wash with a neutral stone cleaner; outdoors, a hose and soft brush are enough. Seal after fitting and reseal every year or so.
