About this stone
On a kitchen counter, Star Galaxy reads as solid black from across the room, then shows its small gold and copper flecks up close. It pairs easily with white, wood or grey cabinets and keeps a clean line along long runs.
It is a dense, hard granite that takes hot pots and daily use without trouble, and it absorbs very little water. It works well on countertops, stairs, window sills and table tops. The honest caveat: polished black shows water spots, crumbs and fingerprints quickly, so expect to wipe it more often than a lighter speckled stone, or ask about a leathered finish.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild dish soap, then dry with a soft cloth to avoid spots. Skip bleach, vinegar and abrasive powders.
