About this stone
Indian Black gives a kitchen a calm, almost solid black surface, with only fine grey specks visible when you lean in. It suits modern kitchens, white cabinets and brass or steel fittings, and it hides seams well.
It is a hard, low-absorbing granite that handles hot pans and daily cooking without fuss. Beyond countertops, it works on stair treads, window sills, vanity tops and table tops, and flamed or leathered it can go outside. The honest caveat: a polished black surface shows water marks, grease and fingerprints more than a light speckled stone, so a leathered or honed finish is worth considering for busy kitchens.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild dish soap, then dry with a soft cloth to avoid spots. Skip bleach, vinegar and abrasive powders.
