About this stone
Statuario has a brighter, whiter ground than Carrara, with fewer but bolder grey veins that can run across a whole slab. In a home it becomes the focal point: a kitchen island, a feature wall behind a bed, or a bathroom clad floor to ceiling, where the veins can be book-matched.
It behaves like any calcite marble. It scratches more easily than granite, acids etch polished areas, and oil or coffee can stain if not wiped. A hot pot rarely harms it, but a trivet is sensible. Because each slab's veining is different, choose the actual slabs before cutting. On a busy kitchen countertop, accept that it will show signs of daily use.
Care
Seal it after installation and reseal periodically. Use coasters and trivets, and clean with a neutral stone cleaner.
