About this stone

A slate in rust, copper and brown tones with patches of grey-green, and a naturally split surface that shows small ridges and layers. The colours come from iron in the stone, so each piece has its own mix of warm and cool patches.

It suits feature walls, facades, garden walls, paths and outdoor floors, where the textured face gives good grip. It can also be honed smooth for interiors. Slate is made of thin layers, so a split surface may shed small flakes at first; brush off anything loose before sealing. The rust tones vary from piece to piece, and it is not a stone for kitchen countertops.

Care

Brush clean and apply a stone sealer after fixing, renewing it every year or two. Wash with water and a neutral cleaner.
