About this stone
Milly Gray is a cool grey marble from Minya. Up close you see small pale fossil flecks and faint lighter lines drifting across the grey. In a room it reads as a calm, even grey that sits well with white walls, wood and brass. Honed or leathered, it looks softer and more modern than polished.
It works well on floors, stairs, bathrooms, wall cladding and window sills. Still, it is softer than granite. Grit scratches polished stair treads, and lemon or vinegar leaves dull patches that show clearly on a darker grey. The lines have a direction, so say how you want the slabs cut before cutting starts.
Care
Clean with water and a pH-neutral cleaner, and wipe spills quickly. On stairs, a honed finish hides wear better than polished.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Outdoor & facades
