About this stone
A sandstone from India in pale yellow and cream, with ochre streaks that sweep across the surface like the grain of teak wood. It has a fine, sandy feel rather than the shine of marble, and it gives walls a warm, natural look.
It is used mainly for wall cladding, facades, garden walls and outdoor paving, where its slightly rough surface gives good grip and it does not get as hot as dark stone. Sandstone is porous: it drinks water and oil, can darken when wet and may show stains or green growth in damp, shaded spots. Seal it well, and do not use it for kitchen countertops or vanities.
Care
Apply a penetrating sealer after fixing and renew it every one to two years. Clean with water and a soft brush; avoid acids and pressure washing at close range.
