About this stone
Breccia Daino, often just called Daino in the yards, is a warm beige marble. The slab in the photo shows long, wavy streaks of sand, light brown and cream running in one direction, with softer flecks between them, so a floor gets gentle movement without busy contrast.
It works well on floors, stairs, wall cladding and window sills, and it pairs easily with wood doors and cream walls. Polished, it gives a classic shine; honed, it hides footprints and dust better. Because the streaks run one way, decide the direction of the tiles before fixing. Like any marble it etches with lemon and vinegar, so it is not a good choice for kitchen countertops.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Seal once a year and wipe up lemon, vinegar and coffee quickly.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Outdoor & facades
