About this stone
A deep brick-red and terracotta travertine from Iran, with thin bands running across the stone, cream and golden streaks, and small elongated holes. It is a natural stone with a genuine red colour, and it gives a room a strong, earthy warmth.
It is used on feature walls, facades, floors and stairs, and works well next to beige travertine as a border or inlay. Holes are filled indoors; outside, a tumbled or brushed finish keeps it less slippery. The red changes noticeably from block to block, so choose all the pieces for one area together. It is sensitive to acids like any travertine, so it does not suit kitchen countertops.
Care
Seal after installation and every year or two. Clean with water and a neutral stone cleaner, and avoid acids and bleach.
