About this stone
Giallo Siena is a warm golden-yellow marble with clouds of cream and paler butter tones and thin grey veins drifting through. It carries the colour of old Italian buildings and brings a sunny warmth into a room, especially one with little daylight.
It is often used for inlay borders and medallions next to white or dark marbles, and it works on feature walls, hall floors, table tops and window sills. Polished, the yellow turns rich and deep. The stone has small natural pits that are filled during finishing, and the balance of yellow and cream changes between slabs, so choose from the actual slabs. It scratches and etches like other marbles, so keep it off kitchen countertops.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Seal once a year and wipe up lemon, vinegar and coffee quickly.
Better avoided for
