About this stone
Red Aswan Dark is the dark grade of the Aswan red: copper-red to oxblood crystals set in a heavy mesh of black mineral. It has a rich, grounded look that suits a kitchen countertop against light cabinets, a feature staircase, or a dark accent band on a wall.
It is hard, takes hot pans and daily wear, and the busy crystal hides crumbs and small marks. Leathered, it feels soft and shows fewer fingerprints; flamed, it works on outdoor steps. The caveat: this grade is selected for depth of colour, so tone can differ noticeably between slabs. See the actual pieces in daylight before cutting, especially for a long countertop with joints.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild soap, and avoid acid or bleach cleaners. Reseal a kitchen countertop every one to two years.
