About this stone
Indian Onyx mixes pale mint green and white in fine, wispy streaks that flow in one direction, with faint peach patches. Its figure is finer and more even than the stronger greens, so panels placed side by side look related. Backlit, the white streaks glow and the green softens.
It suits backlit walls, vanity fronts, bar fronts and table tops used with care, especially where several matching panels are needed. The name is a trade name, so ask about origin if that matters to you. It is soft and acid-sensitive: not for kitchen counters, floors or outdoor use.
Care
Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap and wipe spills, especially lemon, vinegar and juice, straight away. Reseal on a regular schedule and use coasters and mats, since onyx etches and scratches easily.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Floors
- Stairs
- Outdoor & facades
