About this stone
Green Onyx has a clear pistachio ground crossed by winding amber and orange veins, each edged with a thin cream line. Unlit it looks strongly coloured; with backlight the green turns lighter and glassier while the amber veins stay darker, so the contrast rises.
That contrast works on a single feature wall, bar front, reception desk or small table top, but it can compete with other strong colours in a room. Treat it as one accent rather than a whole scheme. It is soft and reacts to acids, so avoid kitchen counters, floors and outdoor use.
Care
Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap and wipe spills, especially lemon, vinegar and juice, straight away. Reseal on a regular schedule and use coasters and mats, since onyx etches and scratches easily.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Floors
- Stairs
- Outdoor & facades
