About this stone
Ghiandone Aswan is a grey granite dotted with salmon-pink feldspar crystals among white and black grains. The name comes from the Italian word for acorn, describing larger crystals set in a finer ground. On a staircase or a kitchen countertop it gives a warm, lively look that sits well with wood and cream walls.
It is hard and low-maintenance, and it stands up to sun and rain as well as indoor wear, so it suits stairs, floors, outdoor paving and wall cladding. In the kitchen it resists scratches and heat. The caveat is the balance of pink and grey, which changes between blocks; some pieces carry larger, more frequent pink crystals than others, so look at the slab first.
Care
Mop or wipe with water and a neutral cleaner. Seal polished indoor surfaces and reseal every one to two years.
