How Marble Installation Works: From Measuring to Handover

1. Choose the stone

Start at our showroom, where you can see and touch slabs in real light, or send us photos of your space on WhatsApp and tell us what you have in mind. Tell us where the stone is going: a kitchen worktop, a floor, stairs, a bathroom or an outside wall. That decides which stones make sense, which finish and which thickness.

It helps to bring or photograph a cabinet door sample, your floor tile colour or the room itself, so you can compare the stone against them before deciding. If you already have a design or a kitchen drawing, send that too.

2. Site measuring (مقايسة)

Measurements are taken on site, not from drawings alone, because walls are rarely perfectly straight and corners are rarely perfectly square.

For kitchens, measuring happens after the lower cabinets are fixed in place and levelled. The sink and hob should already be chosen, ideally on site or with their cut-out templates, because their exact size decides the openings. For floors and stairs, the site needs to be at the right stage for measuring, and we confirm what is needed on the visit.

3. Templates and choosing your slabs

For worktops and irregular shapes, a full-size template may be made from thin board or strips that follow the real walls. It is then laid on the slab so the cut matches your space.

Natural stone varies from slab to slab, even within the same type. That is why we recommend seeing the actual slabs before cutting. On the slab you decide where the veins run, which part goes on the island or the most visible wall, and whether two pieces should be book-matched. On floors and stairs, agree on vein direction early so the pattern flows from room to room.

4. Cutting, edges and cut-outs

The pieces are then cut to size and the edges shaped to the profile you chose, such as a simple eased edge, a bevel, a rounded edge or a doubled edge that looks thicker. Openings for the sink, hob and tap are cut and finished in the workshop where possible, so the pieces arrive ready.

For an undermount sink, the edge of the opening is polished because it stays visible. For a top-mount sink, the rim covers the cut. Inside corners of cut-outs are usually slightly rounded to reduce the risk of cracks.

5. Delivery and installation

Stone is heavy and can break before it is fixed, so it is carried on its edge and handled with care, especially on stairs and through narrow doors.

Worktops sit on the cabinets and are fixed and joined with a suitable adhesive, with tight, colour-matched joints. Floors are laid on a mortar bed and checked for level, with expansion joints left where needed. For wall cladding, small pieces at low height can be fixed with adhesive, while large, heavy pieces, high walls and outside facades usually need mechanical fixing with metal anchors behind each piece. The right method depends on the size, weight, height and wall, and we decide it on the visit.

6. Polishing, sealing and handover

On marble floors, the joints are grouted and the floor is polished (جلي) once the bed has set. Polishing evens out small height differences between tiles and gives the whole room one even finish. Natural stone surfaces that need it are then sealed.

At handover we walk through the work with you and explain how to clean and care for your stone. Keep a note of the stone name and finish in case you want to add pieces later.
